Expected to be released early this week.
The Supreme Court announced Sunday night that Justice Clarence Thomas was taken to Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C. on Friday, where he has received care for “flu-like symptoms.” He is expected to be released in “a day or two.”
“He underwent tests, was diagnosed with an infection, and is being treated with intravenous antibiotics,” the court stated. “His symptoms are abating, he is resting comfortably, and he expects to be released from the hospital in a day or two.”
The high court said Justice Thomas will participate in cases for which he is not present by reviewing briefs, transcripts, and audio of oral arguments. There are cases that will be heard through Wednesday of this week.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For complete healing for Justice Thomas from the illness causing him to be hospitalized.
- For Justice Thomas to rely on the Lord’s strength as he works remotely.
- For the health and wellbeing of all the Supreme Court justices.
- For wisdom for the justices as they hear and decide cases.
